If you’re a golf lover, you may have a few golf-related dream trips on your bucket list—like teeing off at St. Andrews or at one of the designer courses that dot the Caribbean. Chances are, though, that attending the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, is at the top of the list!
My husband and I are avid golfers ourselves, so I know exactly how coveted trips to the famous Augusta National Golf Club are (my very lucky husband will be in the stands at the tournament next year). If you dream in Augusta green, then here’s what you need to know about scoring tickets and planning a trip around this bucket-list experience:
Enter the Lottery
The Masters operates a lottery system to grant tickets. Be warned, it’s pretty tough to procure tickets this way, since rules are strict and so many people apply. If you’re going to try, here’s what you need to know:
- Entry into the lottery opens the summer before the tournament for a small window of time; the lottery for 2026 tickets will be open from June 1st through June 20th, 2025
- You can only submit one lottery application per household—so don’t send in a separate application from your spouse … or else you could end up having to forfeit your ticket!
- You can apply for any and all tournament days—though you may only get tickets to one day
While the 2026 lottery hasn’t opened yet, you can go ahead and create your account here on the Masters’ website to get a jump on things.
Go “Third Party”
Let’s say you missed out on lottery tickets … all hope isn’t lost! You may still be able to get tickets through a third party—like myself. I have incredible partners who are able to set aside a cache of tickets for my clients.

Let’s say you are one of the lucky few to snag lottery tickets—you can still work with me to design the rest of your travel experience. Another great option for a tournament stay is a private villa or home rental. Augusta is not a big city, so hotel options are pretty limited. Many homeowners opt to leave the city during the tournament and rent out their homes to ticket holders. These are very nice homes and would make the perfect home base for your tournament stay, especially if you’re traveling with your family or with friends who also scored tickets (and when booked through my partners, you’ll know that the homes have been vetted!).
